USEFUL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR E- AND HYBRID MODELS.

HOW DOES AN ELECTRIC MOTOR WORK?
An electric motor converts electricity into mechanical energy. To do this, conductor coils are energised, which then generate magnetic fields. Repeated reversal of the polarity of the coils generates a rotation that is transmitted to the vehicle axles. The highlight: instant torque – a completely new dimension of driving pleasure.

HOW DOES A HYBRID ELECTRIC CAR WORK?
Hybrid technology combines two drive concepts: electric drive and combustion engine. The optimum drive is used automatically: the electric motor up to 50 km/h, and both drives for faster journeys. The hybrid thus drives purely electrically for stretches, but can dynamically call on additional power – e.g. when overtaking.

WHY IS E-MOBILITY WORTHWHILE FOR ME?
If you look at the operating costs of an electric car, the advantages over cars with combustion engines are clear. For example, maintenance costs are much lower, as electric motors have fewer moving parts and do not require oil changes. In addition, insurance costs tend to be lower and most governments offer tax breaks to electric car drivers.

WHEN IS A PLUG-IN-HYBRID CAR WORTHWHILE?
Plug-in hybrids are particularly worthwhile if you use their electric range as often as possible – such as for daily short trips to the shops. At night, the battery can be fully recharged. If you drive longer distances frequently, on the other hand, you only use the electric motor at the beginning of your journey.

HOW IS THE BATTERY OF AN ELECTRIC CAR MAINTAINED?
During routine battery maintenance, we check the charging connection, chargers and all cable connections and see how much energy the battery can still store. Our electric cars come with a battery guarantee of eight years or 160,000 km for at least 70% of the original charging capacity after this time or distance.

WHAT IS THE BATTERY OF AN ELECTRIC CAR MADE OF?
A battery contains graphite, nickel, cobalt, manganese, lithium and liquid electrolyte. In addition, there are plastics, aluminium and steel from the housing as well as components such as cables, circuit boards and electrode foils. Particularly valuable materials such as cobalt, nickel and lithium are recycled after the second life cycle of the battery.
